Wilkes-Barre.Janet M. Tyson , aka “Babci”, 75 of Wilkes - Barre, passed away Friday July 29, 2022 due to complications from a surgery. She was surrounded by her loving family during the time of her passing. Janet went peacefully as she entered eternal life.

Janet was born on May 6, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, and was the daughter of the late William and Janet Brothers.

Janet was a graduate from Marymount High School in 1965. After her graduation, Janet was employed by Blue Cross of NEPA as a file clerk and then worked her way up to become supervisor of the customer service department. Janet retired from Blue Cross after 35 years of service. She wasn’t the type of person to just sit at home, therefore, she went to work for the Geisinger Health System for 10 plus years until she had fallen ill. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter who was her pride and joy. She also had a love for the LA Rams, and was thrilled when they won the Super Bowl this year. She also cherished playing bingo with her sister, Jackie, whenever she had the opportunity. She also enjoyed many adventures with her lifelong friend, Mary Kerpovich.

Janet is survived by her only daughter Lisa Bly and husband Eugene of Hanover Township, granddaughter Caitlyn Bly of Hanover Township, sister Jackie Allabaugh of Sweet Valley, sister-in-law Sharon Hadj-Chikh of Buffalo New York, her niece Lelia Hadj-Chikh, which she had a close bond with, and her nephews Seven Allabaugh, her godson, Kevin Allabaugh, Gibran Hadj-Chikh, and Ronan Hadj-Chikh. Janet’s family would like to thank her two special caregivers, Bonnie Ross, her aid, and Bill Bly Jr., aka “Jasper”, who drove her to and from dialysis. The exceptional care Janet had received by both Bonnie Ross and Bill Bly Jr., along with the technicians at the Fresenuis Kidney Care Center and Dr. Raymond Joseph Jr. went above and beyond.

Her daughter, Lisa Bly, knows that although Janet has passed “it is not goodbye, but see you soon.” There is no doubt that Janet was deeply loved and cherished by everyone who had entered her life. She will always be remembered in the hearts of those that loved her. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30am from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 North Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St, Leo's Church, 33 Manhattan Street, Ashley.
