Yvonne Palmer, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Hampton House Nursing, Wilkes-Barre. Born February 16, 1944, in Salem, SC, she was the daughter of the late Heyward and Wilamay Holloway. Yvonne attended Gillespie Jr. High School, Philadelphia, and was a 1962 high school graduate.
She was self-employed for many years as a seamstress and also as a cigar roller. She was really a Jack-of-all trades, grooming hair, baking, and sewing. She was a member of the Kingsom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, James Jenkins in 1976; and sons, Virgil Holloway, Terrence Holloway, and Edward James Jenkins.
Surviving are her husband, George Palmer of Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Selene Gail Jenkins of Philadelphia; sons, Terrell Daniel Jenkins of Philadelphia, and Tracey Alan Jenkins and his wife, Darlene Alisa Gray Jenkins of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Andre Forton, Yaman Jenkins, Yasman Yolanda Jenkins, Earl Raymond Rouse Jenkins, Jessica Rouse Jenkins, Tracey Ali Jenkins Jr., James Jenkins, and Terrell Jenkins; 13 Great Grandchildren; and brother, Carl Holloway of Philadelphia.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held Saturday, January 15th at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1240 Scott Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705.
