William “Bill” Arthur Shaffer, of Buck Township, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at River View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on March 10, 1939, in Shades Creek, he was the son of the late Clarence and Arline (Dutter) Shaffer. William attended Tobyhanna High School and went on to build a successful career in the real estate and construction business.
Bill had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, gardening, snowmobiling, and hunting trips to Colorado with his sons. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. He also had a lifelong passion for music and was blessed with the rare gift of playing by ear. Whether on the accordion, harmonica, or piano, Bill’s music brought warmth and joy to every room he entered.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Shaffer Jr.; and his brothers, Raymond Shaffer, Jerry “Chip” Shaffer, and Frederick Shaffer.
Surviving are his sons, Charles “Chuck” Shaffer (Samantha) of Buck Township, PA; Rick Shaffer (Helene) of Mountain Top, PA; and Adam Shaffer (Jessica) of Bethlehem, PA; his daughter, Kate Martens (Victor) of Mount Pocono, PA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, Robert Shaffer (Lynn) of Florida and Larry Shaffer (Jeanette) of NV; his sisters, Mary Cerami (Joseph) of Delaware and Ruth “Corky” Hughes of White Haven, PA; his cousin, Art Sipple of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Beaumont Methodist Church, 380 Buck Blvd., White Haven, PA 18661. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by the service at 4:00 p.m.
