Stanley P. Karpinski Jr.

Stanley P. Karpinski Jr., of Shavertown, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. Born August 9, 1947, in St. Augustine, FL, he was the son of the late Stanley and Eleanore Migatulski Karpinski.

Stanley was a 1965 graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School and received his Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science from Wilkes University.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War at the Tet Offensive. He was wounded twice during his service and received two purple hearts.

Stan loved golfing, fishing, and nature. He also enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Phillies and Penn State, play.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Judy Marini, in 1998.

Surviving is his brother, Steve Karpinski and his wife, Kathy of Hunlock Creek, PA; sister, Justine Petersen of Warrior Run, PA; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 North Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Stanley's name to the Wounded Warrior's Project.
