Rosemary Solt

Rosemary Solt, nee' Aroshus, passed away on September 29, 2026, following a short illness.  She was 84.  

She was born in Pittston on November 10, 1941, to parents John and Antoinette and grew up in West Pittston.  She graduated from Pittston High School, class of 1959 and thereafter attended the Pittston Hospital School of Nursing receiving her R.N. degree.  She worked as a registered nurse at various facilities over her lifetime including; Pittston Hospital, St Christopher's Children's Hospital, the former Valley Crest Nursing Home, as a visiting nurse and, prior to her retirement, at Keystone Job Corps in Drums.  She had a tender and compassionate nature which made her well suited for the profession.

Far more important to her than anything else, Rosemary was a wife and mother.  Her family came first and she made certain that they were well taken care of by making home cooked meals every night, keeping an immaculate home, celebrating holidays and birthdays and making sure that everyone felt special and loved.  In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, spending time with friends and enjoying her family.  She was a woman of great faith and, until her health began to fail her, regularly attended mass at St. Jude Church in Mountain Top.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward.  She is survived by her 3 loving children, Michaelene of Manchester, NH, Matthew of Derry, NH and John Michael of Forty Fort as well as daughter in law Amy Marie, her sister, Ann, grandchildren Isaac and Emilee and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home in Wilkes-Barre.  A funeral mass will be held at the convivence of the family and there will be no calling hours. internment will be at Albert Cemetery in Mountain Top where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
