With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our beloved family matriarch, Mary (Dalton) Drevenak, age 93, of Wilkes-Barre. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary was a sweet and loving soul whose greatest joy in life was her family.
A devoted mother, Mary gave her children unwavering love, guidance, and strength. Her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and open arms. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she delighted in every milestone, every story, and every laugh, offering kindness, wisdom, and unconditional love to each generation.
She had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, always thinking of others before herself. Her smile brought comfort, her words brought peace, and her presence brought a sense of belonging to all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by the love of her life of 60 years, her husband, Andy, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion, partnership, and cherished memories. They are now reunited, embracing once again and doing what they loved most—polka dancing. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Andy, Bobby, and David Drevenak, and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Drevenak.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Drevenak and Jim Drevenak (Sarina); her daughter, Cheryl Drevenak Shemelewski; and her daughters-in-law, Carolann Drevenak and Barb Drevenak. She also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will forever treasure her memory.
A small service will be held at her final resting place with close family.
