Marvin attended Plymouth Area schools, laying the foundation for a life enriched by community and kinship. For many years, he was employed as a cook at the Royal Diner and Joe Schmid’s Diner in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where he was known not only for his culinary skills but also for his warm presence and kind spirit in the kitchens and beyond.

Among Marvin’s proudest accomplishments were his hands-on work and his enthusiasm for playing the lottery – pastimes that reflected his practical nature and hopeful outlook. Perhaps his greatest joy, however, was spending cherished moments with his grandchildren and extended family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.

He was a beloved grandfather to Leland Brew, Jacob Brunner, Austin Kochanski, Kadynce Kochanski, Josiah John, Alyssa MacDowell, Cody Artmont, Catherine Parker, Lilianna Parker, Ella Parker, Christopher Heylek, Alexander J. Brew, and Summer Sharon Rain Brew. His family circle also includes great-grandchildren Rhiley Koonrad and Da’Kari Perry. Marvin’s sister, Millie Brew of Reading, Pennsylvania, remains part of his close-knit family.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mildred Brew; his son, John Hughes; granddaughters Kayligh Brew and Brian Brew Jr.; and sisters Sharon Brew and Geraldine Artmont.

Throughout his life, Marvin embodied a spirit of warmth and steadfastness. His contributions to his community and the love he shared with family will long be remembered with respect and affection.
