Marilyn Hopkins

Marilyn Hopkins, Clarks Summit, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025.

Born in Philadelphia on April 20, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late John J. Hopkins, Sr. and Helen Good Hopkins.

Marilyn was raised in Edwardsville, PA.

Although an early childhood accident created lifelong illness and struggles, she graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1961.

She lived for a time in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, NY and Luzerne, PA.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents and brother, Magistrate John J. Hopkins, Jr.

Surviving are sister, Kathleen Karpinski and her husband, Stephen of Hunlock Creek; sister-in-law, Frances Hopkins of Edwardsville; nephews, Atty. John J. Hopkins III and his wife, Shelly of Ohio, Stephen Karpinski and his wife, Kaitlin of Louisiana; nieces, Melissa Bennett and her husband, Steven of Larksville, Sarah Karpinski of California; great nephews, Neal Bennett, Robinson Karpinski; great nieces, Keara Hopkins Lambert and her husband, Noah; Claudia Hopkins; Elenore Nova Karpinski and many cousins.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Clarks Summit State Hospital for the extraordinary care, kindness, and safe home they provided for Marilyn. They are the angels among us.

In honoring Marilyn's wishes there will be no services.

Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle.
