Margaret Mary Elizabeth Rush Sipple
July 22, 1939 – October 29, 2026
Margaret Mary Elizabeth Rush Sipple, beloved wife of the late Robert Leo Sipple, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away, leaving behind a family who will forever cherish her memory.
At the time of her passing, Margaret was a resident of Mountaintop Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Mountaintop, Pennsylvania. She was formerly a resident of Ashley, Pennsylvania.
Born on July 22, 1939, in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Margaret was the daughter of Theodore and Marie Farber Rush. She attended Wilkes-Barre City schools and spent her life devoted to her family.
Margaret met her husband, Robert (Bob), when they were young, and together they shared 56 years of marriage. They built a life together, raised six children, and made countless memories. She especially enjoyed their quiet mornings, preparing breakfast while Bob read the newspaper.
Family was always at the center of Margaret’s life. She devoted many years to raising her children and helping care for her grandchildren. Her home was filled with love, good food, holiday baking, and laughter. She was especially known for her pineapple squares, Texas sheet cake, chocolate chip cookies, and Elvis Presley cupcakes.
Margaret had a personality that was impossible to forget. She was known for her quick wit, playful sense of humor, and ability to make people laugh. She always had something funny to say and a way of bringing laughter into any room.
After spending so many years caring for her family, Margaret enjoyed her later years traveling to Florida, where she loved soaking up the sunshine and relaxing. She also enjoyed being pampered, getting her hair and nails done, and looking her best.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She began her mornings with prayers with Jesus, which brought her comfort and strength throughout her life. Throughout many years of illness, Margaret also showed great strength and perseverance.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Lawrence and Cindy Sipple of Penn Lake, PA; Leo and Sandy Sipple of Wilkes-Barre, PA; Edward and Leigh Ann Sipple of Mountaintop, PA; Colleen Grace Wheaton and her partner, Karl Stefanski, both of Hanover Township, PA; and Dawn Marie and Doug Barry of North Port, FL. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Brenda Sipple; her sister, Patricia Zukoski of Virginia; 15 grandchildren: Haley Ann Rimmer, Amber Sipple, Shara Sipple, Brandon Sipple, Nicholas Sipple, Leeann Wheaton, Michael Wheaton, Shawn (Jake) Wheaton, Erik Sipple, Erika Stefanski, Emily Sipple, Nathan Sipple, Joe Cefalo, Samantha Cefalo, and Victoria Benning; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Leo Sipple; her son, Robert (Bobby) Sipple Jr.; her great-granddaughter, Erin McPeek; her sister, Mary (Rush) Semon; and her brother, Theodore Gerald Rush.
May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of God.
