With deep respect and loving remembrance, the family of Lonnie Simmons shares news of his passing on August 1, 2026. Born on October 19, 1953, Lonnie lived a life marked by resilience, kindness, and devotion to those he cherished.

Throughout his seventy-two years, Lonnie touched the lives of many. His wisdom, gentle guidance, and unwavering support left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He faced life’s joys and challenges with quiet dignity, always putting family first.

Lonnie's greatest pride was his cherished family. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Laura Garretson Celeste Garretson and his devoted sons Dimitrius Garretson,  Clinton garretson. The bond they shared with their father will remain a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration. His children will remember him as a loving presence whose memories will continue to nurture and guide them.

Friends and family are invited to honor Lonnie’s life at the visitations to be held on August 8, 2026, at Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N Meade St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. Two visitation gatherings will take place: the first from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and the second from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. These gatherings will provide an opportunity for all who knew and cared for Lonnie to reflect upon his legacy and offer support to his loved ones.

As we say goodbye to Lonnie Simmons, we do so with gratitude for the example he set and the love he so generously shared. His memory will continue to illuminate the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
