Joseph J. Jendrzejewski of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September18, 2025.
Born February 13, 1944, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Ernest T. and Clara Sikora Jendrzejewski.
Joe was a 1961 graduate of Marymount High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a Staff Sergeant.
He was employed as Construction Manager at Edward P. Hayes Construction, Wilkes-Barre, and facility manager at Luzerne Optical, Wilkes-Barre.
Joe was a member of St. Nicholas-St. Mary's Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and the American Legion Post 781, Mountain Top.
Joe was known as being soft-spoken, very helpful, and kind. He enjoyed fixing things, reading, and was very knowledgeable. Mostly he loved playing with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Thompson; brother, Ernest T. Jendrzejewski; brother-in-laws, Hank Thompson and Carl Kuniega; sister-in-law, Jean Kuniega; and nephews, Alan Thompson and Christopher Kuniega.
Surviving is his wife, Susan Cassoni Stetz-Jendrzejewski; daughters, Kimberly Ann and Lori Ann Jendrzejewski of Lakeland, FL; Step-children, Stephanie Stetz of Ellicott City, MD, Ryan Stetz and his wife, Erika of Nanticoke, and Brandy Stetz and her companion, Tom Madden of Wilkes-Barre Township; grandchildren, Grace and Myles Stetz Madden and Chase and Reno Stetz; sister, Carolyn Jendrzejewski of Wilkes-Barre; sister-in-law, Monica Jendrzejewski of Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30am from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 North Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend John S. Terry, Pastor, will be Celebrant. Committal with Military Honors will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday at the funeral home from 3:00 to 6:00pm.
