Carolyn J. Jendrzejewski, a cherished sister and beloved aunt, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the age of 87, in the very town where she was born on February 28, 1938. Her journey through life was defined by unwavering dedication to family, service, and an unmistakable warmth that embraced all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A proud alumna of Marymount High School and Wyoming Seminary, Carolyn’s education was only the foundation of a rich and generous life. She devoted her professional talents to several lawyers throughout the Wyoming Valley, but her heart and spirit thrived in the family business—Jendrzejewski Funeral Home—where she spent countless hours assisting her father and brother.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Carolyn was infamous amongst her family for her remarkable rice pudding recipe, a sweet reminder of the love she infused into every aspect of her life.
Carolyn's legacy is carried on by her best-kept secret, her loving daughter, Cathy, and son-in-law, Michael Cosgrove, whom we all recently became acquainted and welcomed into our family, as well as a host of family members who will forever treasure her memory. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Monica Jendrzejewski (W-B); sister-in-law, Susan Stetz-Jendrzejewski (Nanticoke); sister-in-law, Barbara Kendricks (FL); and a multitude of nieces and nephews—Elizabeth and husband, Stephen Burek (NJ), Ernest Thompson (NJ), Robert Thompson (NJ), and Harold Thompson (NJ), Kimberly Jendrzejewski (FL), Lori Ann Jendrzejewski (FL), Stephen Jendrzejewski (W-B), Joseph M. and wife, Kerin Jendrzejewski (Swoyersville), Judy and husband, Richard Partington (W-B), Ernest S. Jendrzejewski and Kim Rotell (W. Pittston), William and wife, Tess Jendrzejewski (Shavertown), and Anthony Jendrzejewski (W-B), and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews—who all share a profound sense of gratitude for the love and wisdom she imparted throughout their lives.
Carolyn’s spirit is also intertwined with the memory of those who have predeceased her, including her beloved parents, Ernest S. and Clara (Sikora) Jendrzejewski, her sister Joyce and her husband, Harold Thompson, as well as her brothers, Ernest T. and Joseph J. Jendrzejewski, and her dear companion, Elia Roncketti. Their memories remain vibrant within the tapestry of her life, contributing to the extraordinary woman she became.
As we bid farewell to Carolyn J. Jendrzejewski, we reflect on a life well-lived—a life characterized by love, service, and an indomitable spirit. Her legacy will inspire and guide her family and friends as they navigate the world, ever grateful for the time shared with such a remarkable woman.
